“Interference and Breakup”
The best dreams are the ones that don’t last. I’m taking a nap on the couch for half an
hour or so, immersed in deep thought and enjoying it, until a hand grabs my
left shoulder and a hectic voice breaks my steady thinking signal.
“Chris, wake up…we have to go now before we’re late.”
And I wake up with the parting images of my warm
fantasy exiting my subconscious.
It’s like having the perfect camera shot and losing
it. You don’t want the image to depart
but it has to, leaving you in some sort of disoriented daze, questioning your
mind until you force yourself to fall asleep again.
Oh and how I want to fall asleep again! To fall asleep is to slide back into the
groove of the dream and open another chapter into the movie running through
your brain.
So where do we go from here?
It is the question I want to avoid.
But I must answer it.
I must think.
Must you think?
We have to think, but I do not want to.
I want the reality, the actual.
All that matters is that you are here. All that matters is that I am here.
What matters is not what is real.
What is real is what is now. We are real, we are here.
That what is not real?
My Love, must we think of it now?
Let us not think, let us be. Let us live the actual.
Come to me.
It will only bring more fear.
Why do you fear?
Because I know you will not be there always.
I can live without you.
No! You are hiding
your pain.
What more is there?
To hide is to be safe.
What will you see when you hide?
Pain of loss, but I will fear no more.
Do not danger yourself.
Danger! Danger is
my destiny.
And it is my destiny to save you from danger.
